Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I tune my piano?

Most pianos benefit from tuning twice a year. If your piano has not been tuned for over a year, a pitch raise may be needed before a fine tuning can be carried out.

How long does a piano tuning take?

A standard tuning typically takes 60 to 90 minutes. A pitch raise may take slightly longer depending on how far the piano is from concert pitch.

Do you tune both upright and grand pianos?

Yes — I tune all acoustic upright and grand pianos. Please note that electric and digital pianos are not included in my service.

How should I prepare my piano for tuning?

You don’t need to do much — just make sure the area around the piano is accessible. If possible, keep the room quiet during the tuning (60–90 minutes), as I need to listen carefully to each note. You don’t need to be in the room the whole time, but please be available at the start and end so I can explain the work and discuss any findings.

How do I book a piano tuning?

Simply WhatsApp or text me on 07877 130569, or email sunnypianotuner@gmail.com. I will get back to you promptly to arrange a convenient time.
